Quote: "This act makes it illegal to create sexually explicit deepfakes with the intention of distributing them, which is punishable by five years in prison or a fine of 50 million won ($37,900). Following an amendment passed on 26 September 2024, (1) the maximum sentence has increased to seven years regardless of the intention; and (2) anyone purchasing, saving or watching such material could face up to three years in jail or be fined up to 30 million won ($22,600)."
