Quote: "The Canadian government introduced Bill C-27, also known as the Digital Charter Implementation Act, 2022. If passed, this package of laws will implement Canada's first AI legislation, the Artificial Intelligence and Data Act (AIDA); reform Canadian privacy law; and establish a tribunal specific to privacy and data protection. The AIDA has 3 objectives: (1) regulate 'high-impact AI systems', (2) establish the AI and Data Commissioner as the regulator and enforcer, and (3)establish new criminal sanctions to restrict uses of AI that cause serious harm."
